Education and Training

Dr. Ro-Trock holds a doctoral degree in Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, School of Public Health with a specialty in Family Therapy. He completed two masters degrees at Southern Methodist University and completed clinical training in family therapy at the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences, Houston. He completed clinical pastoral counseling training at The Methodist Hospital and completed a Pastoral Counseling Residency at the Institute of Religion and Human Development located in the Texas Medical Center, Houston.

Experience

Dr. Ro-Trock has conducted a clinical practice of psychotherapy in the Houston community for the past three decades.

He established and directed the Pastoral Counseling and Education Department at the Texas Research Institute of Mental Sciences (Texas Medical Center) for 13 years. While there he directed a Pastoral Counseling Residency program where he supervised interns and residents.

Dr. Ro-Trock has held adjunct faculty appointments at Baylor College of Medicine, The University of Texas school of Public Health and The Institute of Religion and Human Development.

He has been a training consultant to the Pastoral Care Department at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital for 14 years.

Marital therapy, family therapy and spirituality have been the topics of his clinical research and numerous presentations and publications.

Dr. Ro-Trock and his wife, Patty, have been married 40 years. They have two children and two grandchildren.
